DRC-HUBO is a disaster-response bipedal humanoid robot developed by KAIST HuboLab and Rainbow Robotics (South Korea), based on the HUBO platform. Designed for the DARPA Robotics Challenge, it can switch between bipedal walking and wheeled locomotion by using its arms as extra legs for stability on rough terrain. DRC-HUBO features compliant joint control, independent finger control, and completed all 8 DRC tasks in under 45 minutes, winning first place and the $2 million prize at the DRC Finals 2015 in Pomona, California against 24 international teams.
