The article highlights 1X's Neo humanoid robot and the possibility of using its disembodied head as a smart-home hub. It suggests that the robot's head could provide smart-home capabilities independently of its body.
Tuesday Labs debuted Voxel Series-1, a $20,000 semi-autonomous household robot that waters plants and sweeps crumbs through a combination of autonomous intelligence and teleoperation. Its counter-height, cuboid form, LED eyes and 1-DOF grippers deliberately avoid a humanlike uncanny-valley aesthetic. The rechargeable robot will dock at home and initially be offered to a limited group of early adopters who help train its autonomous software.
Beijing-based NeodraDynamics unveiled Neo1, a roughly 4-meter-tall industrial humanoid claimed to lift 500 kg with its arms, at the China International Industry Fair in October 2026. All figures come from the manufacturer, two press releases disagree on precision by a factor of ten, and no third party has seen the robot in action. The piece argues the more interesting product may actually be the underlying 1.1 kg digital hydraulic micro-cylinder rather than the giant humanoid itself.
