Unitree Robotics launched the Dex5-S five-finger dexterous hand with 22 degrees of freedom at 39,900 yuan ($6,000), more than halving the typical 100,000 yuan price for comparable fully-actuated hands. The hand weighs 620 grams, supports direct/back drive and dual-encoder control, and is compatible with Unitree's H1 and G1 humanoid robots, marking a shift in competition toward manipulation capabilities. Industry projections estimate China's dexterous hand sales will grow from 19,200 units in 2025 to over 430,000 by 2030.
