Raise Robotics completed a six-month collaboration with Genie (Terex) to mount its Autonomous Mobile Fabricator (AMF) robot onto a Genie boom lift, enabling the robot to operate at heights of up to 65 feet. The integrated system was demonstrated live for customers and partners in July, marking the transition of the AMF from factory floor operations to elevated work site applications.
Persona AI, founded by former NASA Valkyrie leader Nic Radford and former Figure CTO Jerry Pratt, is focusing its humanoid robots on shipyard welding as a near-term economically viable application. The company has partnerships with HD Hyundai and POSCO in Korea, targeting skilled labor shortages in shipbuilding where hundreds of kilometers of linear welds are needed per ship.
In a recent podcast appearance, Figure founder Brett Adcock pushed back against humanoid hype, arguing that the true bottleneck is onboard intelligence, not hardware manufacturing, and claiming early customers are already seeing a real-world return on investment.
