Cassie is a dynamic bipedal robot developed by Agility Robotics, released in 2016 as the company's first platform. Named after the cassowary bird, it features two legs with 10 degrees of freedom driven by series-elastic actuators but has no torso, arms, or upper body. Cassie set a Guinness World Record in 2022 for the fastest 100-meter bipedal robot dash at 24.73 seconds and completed an untethered 5K run in 2021. It was discontinued as Agility Robotics shifted focus to the Digit humanoid, which builds on Cassie's legs with an added upper body.
