Singapore's Home Team Science and Technology Agency (HTX) has opened the 29,000-square-foot Home Team Humanoid Robotics Centre (H2RC) to develop embodied AI systems for public safety applications. The center will train and test humanoid robots for tasks including hazardous-material handling, post-blast investigations, prison-cell searches, and ambulance supply restocking, with the first robot targeted for operational use by 2028. HTX is partnering with ST Engineering on robotics and cybersecurity, and with Singtel RE:AI to expand sovereign AI infrastructure using Nvidia Grace Blackwell GB300 GPUs.
Shanghai robotics startup MirrorMe unveiled its Viva dexterous robotic hand, which performed a real-time four-hand piano duet with a human player using the company's Cada music embodied foundation model. Viva reaches joint speeds above 1,000 degrees per second and peak fingertip force of 33 newtons, using a tendon-linkage hybrid transmission to balance power, speed, and dexterity. The company, which traces to a Zhejiang University robotics team and is led by Dr. Jin Yongbin, also produces the Bolt humanoid and says its products are in mass production and delivery.
MirrorMe debuted its dexterous robotic hand VIVA in a world-premiere demonstration: a real-time four-hand piano duet between a human and a robot. The event also unveiled the VIVA × CADA collaboration milestone.
