VISION 2026 will bring around 500 machine vision exhibitors to Stuttgart from October 6–8, setting a new record, with 30% exhibiting for the first time and roughly two-thirds coming from outside Germany. The show will focus heavily on AI and emerging technologies, with new features including a Synthetic Data Symposium, VISION Makeathon, expanded industry tours, and a dedicated AI tour.

The prevailing mood in the machine vision industry is currently one of breakthroughs and big expectations: from 6 to 8 October 2026, VISION in Stuttgart will once again become the global hub for those developing, integrating and applying machine vision to meet the latest industry demands.

With around 500 exhibitors, VISION 2026 is set to surpass the previous exhibitor record set in 2024. Particularly remarkable is that an impressive 30% of these exhibitors will be attending VISION for the first time. Approximately two-thirds are coming from outside Germany, ensuring a strong international presence and confirming VISION’s status as a leading world trade fair and key industry platform.

Despite challenging economic conditions, the machine vision industry is once again proving to be robust, innovative and future-driven. For many companies, VISION provides the perfect platform to unveil their technical milestone achievements, set new partnerships in motion and highlight the trends for the coming years. This is a highly anticipated event within the community – for both the manufacturers, as well as system integrators, users and researchers.

Finger on the pulse: new formats for current industry themes

VISION continues to stay abreast of the latest developments and, with its comprehensive programme of accompanying events which includes expert discussions, guided tours, startup formats and practical special shows, will provide plenty of opportunity to discover the latest industry topics, expand on knowledge and expertise, as well as explore new connections.

A good example of this is the new Synthetic Data Symposium. Together with the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics ITWM, the focus here will be on synthetic data for the first time – a key element in the training of AI-based machine vision solutions. Leading experts from the fields of research and industry will be demonstrating how virtual datasets can help to overcome bottlenecks in training data and bring high-quality applications in manufacture, quality assessment and automated inspection quicker to market. Visitors can expect to receive a comprehensive overview of one of the most dynamic AI topics.

With the VISION Makeathon, the trade fair is sending another strong signal in support of the industry’s future. Students and young professionals will be working together with exhibitors on real machine vision challenges, coming up with prototypes, new ideas and unconventional approaches in a short amount of time. For companies, the VISION Makeathon presents the ideal opportunity to connect with the next generation of talent – and to experience the creativity and speed with which they approach the concept of machine vision.

Anyone looking to specifically use VISION 2026 for their own projects will certainly appreciate theVISION Guided Tours. Participants will be provided with a compact introduction to the most important trends and solutions in selected target industries. Whether it’s Aerospace & Defence, Automotive & Battery Manufacturing or Electronics & Semiconductors – the tours will include background knowledge, practical application examples and personal exchanges at the stands. For the first time this year, there will be a special VDMA AI Tour, which will focus on the dynamic between artificial intelligence and machine vision.

World’s leading trade fair with clear perspective

With the combination of around 500 exhibitors, an extraordinarily strong international presence and new formats such as the Synthetic Data Symposium, VISION Makeathon and expanded Guided Tours, VISION 2026 is further emphasising its intention to lead the way for this industry. It more than lives up to its title of leading world trade fair, continuing to provide inspirational content and modern expertise – tailored to the requirements of the industry and open to future potential.

With preparations in full swing, the industry eagerly awaits the big event in October – and VISION 2026 is already promising to deliver an unforgettable three days for the world of machine vision.
