Contactile

Contactile is a Sydney-based robotics component company that develops the PapillArray tactile sensor, a soft, 3D-printed sensor array capable of measuring force, torque, slip, and friction simultaneously. These tactile sensors give robotic grippers the sense of touch needed for delicate manipulation tasks in warehouse logistics, produce handling, and precision manufacturing. Founded in 2019 as a UNSW Sydney spinout, the company supplies sensing technology that addresses one of the key gaps in dexterous robotic manipulation.
