Covariant

Covariant developed the Covariant Brain, a foundation-model AI platform that powers robotic warehouse automation including item picking, sortation, and depalletization for mixed-SKU fulfillment. Its commercial systems include the Robotic Putwall for autonomous pick-and-sort operations and the RFM-1 robotic arm for warehouse pick and place. Founded in 2017 by UC Berkeley researchers and based in Emeryville, California, the company was acquired by Amazon Robotics in 2024, bringing its AI and grasping expertise into Amazon's broader warehouse automation efforts.
